Blind Faith – Can't Find My Way Home lyrics
Come down off your throne and leave your body alone
Somebody must change
You are the reason I've been waiting so long
Somebody holds the key
Well, I'm near the end and I just ain't got the time
And I'm wasted and I can't find my way home

Come down on your own and leave your body alone
Somebody must change
You are the reason I've been waiting all these years
Somebody holds the key
Well, I'm near the end and I just ain't got the time
And I'm wasted and I can't find my way home

I think it also speaks to addiction and chemical abuse of self. Get off that high horse you're on, thinking the drugs are making you "real". Leave your body alone, look inside and find the key. When you're wasted you can't find your way home. Which is a peaceful and healthy and happy place within you. A place that doesn't need drugs or booze for a key. The key comes from leaving that all behind and finding your way "home" free of all that.

I think the song is about unrequited love and a man/woman who has spent many years waiting for this person to change something about themselves, and the man/woman has waited for so long that they have decided they no longer have the time to waste on this person. But, this has been all they have known for so many years that they are lost and can't find their way back to themselves.

Man, winwood knows how to do folk! His early works (no face, john B. ,
Headmen, etc.) actually brought me into the folk genre more than dylan or cat stevens, with respect to all, obviously.
Meaning: there is not much to interpret here besides seeing- the singer is.
Wasted and lost, and something is blocking his ability to have a relationship with the one on the throne. Many variables can be inserted into the obvious scenario, personalized.
I had a bad experience of drug overdose once (1976), was leaving a friend's house, one mile from home, got in my car and absolutely had no idea where I was. It took me an hour to find my way home and I suddenly realized what it meant to be "wasted and i can't find my way home". Monty may.

I see everything through a God lens since He pulled me our of darkness into his marvelous light. Therefore I may be bios. I see the need for Christ coming down off His throne like in Philippines 2 emptying himself of all His glory. Leaving His body at home ...somebody holding the key is Him as well...He not only holds the key but gives it to us as believers...the keys to the kingdom.
I love this song...makes me feel something deep. I know what it's like to feel wasted and not find my way home...that's where Christ came in and lit the way with the Word!

This song is not about drugs. Its about finding one's spiritual center. A theme consistent with confusion after the breakup of Cream and other things from this time in their lives. This theme runs through the entire album and is encapsulated in the their decision to call the entire project Blind Faith-- a redundant term because there is no other kind of faith. The entomology of the word itself means belief in something intangible that cant be seen. (ie., "I have finally found a way to live..."). Of course this is just my opinion. If you really want to know what the song means just ask Steve. He's still around and kicking.

The real meaning is that another man has entered in the life of a happily married couple. This third man has influenced the lady of the couple due to his flirtatious character, fair skin and false charms. The lady who is already his school friend starts having relationship with this man and goes on and on. Somehow an outsider with noble intentions intimates the man that his wife is deceiving him by cheating him and keeping relations with this third man. This man becomes sad and is helpless because his life partner has betrayed him and his heart is broken into pieces and he is singing this song. Meanwhile the third person goes away wooing another girlfriend due to his flirtatious character

While I agree with every thinthat was posted on the 30the do September 2016 I don't think Steve Windwood had Jesus in mind when he wrote this song. I would say it's about a search for some form if spirituality in a world that was imploding. Cream had just split, the Beatles were at each other's throats, the Stones had just lost Bryan, drugs were messing everyone up as they had done right through the 60's. So people were looking fora new pathe to follow. I personally think that that's what I can't find my way home is about. It's about being lost in the madness that's going on around us that we can't seem to find a way out of.

No one knows what it means but Winwood, if he meant anything. At the time no one recognized addiction, talked about addiction, wrote about addiction. That's a much newer concept. It just sounds like a lost person to me. It's very emotionally evocative and one of my favorite songs but I don't know why. Don't want to know why.

Here's a theory no one thought about. He is last aka wasted, wandering the earth and is looking for Christ. I'm a boomer a loved this song when it was new and I always thought with the change of 2 or 3 words it's Steve poring his heart out to his god. And I'm catholic, not a holy roller.

I think the song is about women when they age. When they are younger they're carefree and fun to be around. When they are older they've built such a pedestal no one can rise that high. So it's easier to be wasted and enjoy the moment because your life is nearing the end. For god sakes women take some estrogen.
