Bob Marley – Real Situation lyrics
Check out the real situation:
Nation war against nation.
Where did it all begin?
When will it end?
Well, it seems like: total destruction the only solution,
And there ain't no use: no one can stop them now.
Ain't no use: nobody can stop them now
.

Give them an inch, they take a yard;
Give them a yard, they take a mile (ooh);
Once a man and twice a child
And everything is just for a while.
It seems like: total destruction the only solution,
And there ain't no use: no one can stop them now.
There ain't no use: no one can stop them now;
Ain't no use: no one can stop them now;
There ain't no use: no one can stop them now.

Check in the real situation (check it out, check it out):
Nation fight against nation
Where did it all begin? Wo-oo-o-o-oh!
Where will it end?
Well, it seems like: total destruction the only solution.
Mmm, no use: can't stop them;
W'ain't no use: ya can't stop them;
Ain't no use: no one can't stop them now;
Can't stop them now (no one can't stop them now).

There ain't no use: no one can't stop them now.
Everybody strugglin': ain't no use - ain't no use -
Ain't no use you even try;
Ain't no use: got to say 'bye-'bye!
Ain't no use! Ain't no - ain't no use: no one can stop them now
(No one can stop them now) /fadeout/

    This is the second song on Bob's "Uprising" album.
    The "Tuff Gong" was never a quitter! You must listen to the whole album to get the message Bob was putting out there.
    While Bob was pointing out the evil of the Babylon system in this song, he was also bemoaning the desire of many to just give up by saying there was "no use, no one can stop them now."
    In "Work", farther on in the album he exhorts us:
    "we can make it work, come together, and make it work!".
    He answers the naysayers in "Could you be loved? "
    "Don't let them fool ya,
    Or even try to school ya! Oh, no!
    We've got a mind of our own,
    So go to hell if what you're thinking is not right!
    Love would never leave us alone,
    A-yin the darkness there must come out to light."
    Bob's message is always strong! A defeatist attitude is not the message of Rastafari!
    We must resist the evil that is trying to overwhelm us!
    Never give up, never give in!
    He finishes by reminding us to be forever loving JAH and asks us:
    "Won't you help me sing, redemption songs, songs of freedom?"
    Don't stop with just listening to "Real situation"! Hear the whole message! Know that change will come, but not by giving up! We CAN make it work!

    It seems he's talking about imperialism and how it still continues today.
    "Give them an inch, they take a yard; Give them a yard, they take a mile"
    This suggests the idea that when you sit back and allow wrong doing say submitting to a national identity card the result is that the financiers will run with that and push even greater levels of exploitation with say a forced identity chip.
    Another example is if you buy a shirt that was made through slave labour in China expect the financiers to exploit your children in the same way in the future.
    Unlike most of Marley's song which embody a strong sense of hope and a willingness to fight back this song is a hopeless cry.

    Real situation we always see is something we can't desist from as being humans, but when care and attention is not given,there will be no peace as the real situation is mountaining confusion and other destruction naturally.
    Jah be with us so as to understand the world we are living in

    "it seem like total destruction is the only solution" Thae assumption above is the real situation and not the ideal situation. Bob only tried to draw our attention to the fact that some people only think that conflict (total destruction)is the only remedy to our problems. But it only seem so.

    I don't know about the World now, the fighting is seemed to be the solution of everything. No one can say anything about this, no one can make these actions to an end, when did it all begin, when will it end, if that is the case what is a solution! Total destruction is the only solution! No hope for the people no hope for the children, no hope for women, every actions are against them! I feel to cry when I listen this song! Unfortunately the World is blind!
