My meaning to "when i get where i'm going" is the loss of a loved one and how they don't want the family to cry for them but to be happy that they are no longer on earth suffering to survive through the toubles and obstacles of everyday life. This song to me, portrays the feeling that we'll get when and if we all go to heaven to see our wonderful and beautiful makers face. To me, this song is just a glance into what its going to be like when we reach that far side of the sky.

The writers are saying that they know where they will go when they leave this life. To heaven. It will be a place of only happiness, and they will love, and without doubt, be, without fear. (we) I will have nothing to worry about, so don't worry about me when I am gone. Their troubles are over, and you are left to carry on.
I have alot left to do, but when I get to heaven. Don't worry about me then.
