Carrie Underwood – Two Black Cadillacs lyrics
Two black cadillacs driving in a slow parade
Headlights shining bright in the middle of the day
One is for his wife,
The other for the woman who loved him at night
Two black cadillacs meeting for the first time

And the preacher said he was a good man,
And his brother said he was a good friend
But the women in the two black veils didn't bother to cry
(Bye bye, bye bye)
Yeah, yeah they took turns laying a rose down,
Threw a handful of dirt into the deep ground
He's not the only one who had a secret to hide
(Bye bye, bye bye, bye bye)

Two months ago his wife called the number on his phone
Turns out, he'd been lying to both of them for oh so long
They decided then
He'd never get away with doing this to them
Two black cadillacs, waiting for the right time
The right time

And the preacher said he was a good man,
And his brother said he was a good friend
But the women in the two black veils didn't bother to cry
(Bye bye, bye bye)
Yeah, yeah, they took turns laying a rose down
Threw a handful of dirt into the deep ground
He's not the only one who had a secret to hide
(Bye bye, bye bye, bye bye, yeah)

It was the first and the last time they ever saw each other face to face
They shared a crimson smile, and just walked away
And left the secret at the grave

And the preacher said he was a good man,
And his brother said he was a good friend
But the women in the two black veils didn't bother to cry
(Bye bye, bye bye)
They took turns laying a rose down
Threw a handful of dirt into the deep ground
He's not the only one who had a secret to hide
(Bye bye, bye bye, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah)

Mr. Two face had been getting along with two women- one his wife, and the other a steady mistress who didn't suspect he was married (guess he'd hide the ring.) then he slipped up one day at home- maybe his wife called the office when he was "working late" and found out he'd been gone for hours. She waited, called the other woman's number, and they made a plan to kill him where neither would be implicated. But they never let on to anyone, even the man's brother and pastor. The funeral was the only time they ever met.

This song is about love, betrayal, and a deadly secret. Basically, a man left his phone out, so his wife started messing around with it. She found a strange number on it, so she called the number. She then found out that the number belonged to her husband's secret lover. Apparently, the lover didn't even know the man had a wife, and thought she was his girlfriend. Then, the women started to plot revenge. They decided to meet at a certain place and time, and when they finally did meet, the dirty work was done. They had murdered the husband and lover himself. They didn't talk at all, just smiled at each other and walked away. They later met at the funeral, and that was the last time they saw each other. They probably swore to each other that they wouldn't tell ANYONE. EVER! It really is an amazing story, and it is EXTREMLY intricate. The "Black Cadillacs" refer to the women when they first met and when they were waiting to kill the cheater. They "Didn't bother to cry" because they had murdered him. (Either that or they hired a hitman to do the dirty work because of legal reasons.)

Honestly, I don't think there is supposed to be a meaning. You clearly understand that he cheated on his wife with another woman. Now, in the song, she [carrie underwood] states that he wasn't the only person with a secret to hide. So, who had the secret? What was it? Obviously, it was the women who had the secret. The secret is remained unknown but if you use think about it, it sound as if the women had killed him since it was only two months after they found out about his little secret. I think that they killed him. How? I do not know. I can see them in my imagination poisoning him to make it look like it was an accident or he died of natural causes. This may not really be the meaning of this song, but it is what I can picture. If you imagine something different, great. We all think different and this is just how I think.
