Christina Perri – Human lyrics
[Verse 1]
I can hold my breath
I can bite my tongue
I can stay awake for days
If that's what you want

Be your number one
I can fake a smile
I can force a laugh
I can dance and play the part
If that's what you ask
Give you all I am

I can do it
I can do it
I can do it

[Chorus]
But I'm only human
And I bleed when I fall down

I'm only human
And I crash and I break down

Your words in my head, knives in my heart
You build me up and then I fall apart

I'm only human, yeah

[Verse 2]
I can turn it on
Be a good machine

I can hold the weight of worlds
If that's what you need
Be your everything

I can do it
I can do it
I'll get through it

[Chorus]
But I'm only human
And I bleed when I fall down

I'm only human
And I crash and I break down

Your words in my head, knives in my heart
You build me up and then I fall apart
I'm only human, yeah

[Bridge]
I'm only human
I'm only human
Just a little human

I can take so much
Until I've had enough

[Chorus]
‘Cause I'm only human
And I bleed when I fall down
I'm only human
And I crash and I break down
Your words in my head, knives in my heart
You build me up and then I fall apart
‘Cause I'm only human, yeah

What I love about this song is that it's not just one of your typical "I'm such a hopeless reck because I lost you and can't move on." While it's okay to show pain, you will have to move on. A lot of songs these days are about what's lost and never getting it back. This song is about strength, maintained and lost. It's saying that it's important to understand your limits and when enough is too much. She is willing to move on even though she's going to stumble, bleed, and falter.

Another thing that makes this song different is that it's not just about love. This concept of having too much expected of you, whether by yourself or others, fits into relationships of all kind. I can personally relate to this song cause I know what it's like to be expected to move on and stay strong but still wanting to fall into tears every other second. Even if it's not some big leadership job, people have just assumed that I'm a happy and stable person. I've always felt a duty to try to be that kind of person because I know that others are relying on me to be so, and not just for social image, but for emotional support as well. However, your weaknesses are still strong, nagging at your heart. Words can hurt. Pain is no stranger. Still, you move on. "I can do it." "I'll get through it." It may be for myself or for those relying on me, but in the end, I will do what I need to do.

This is what this song means to me. To be strong, but to show yourself to the world, just how human you are.

I think this song is about a relationship. Where she is saying she can be whatever it is the person wants them to be but it is also a reminder that she is her own person and she can get hurt and fall she can suffer from stress or other problems that come along and she won't always be able to change who she is for them that they should accept her for who she is.

I think what she is saying is that she can do it all of these things and not complaining but she's only human I think this is about self respect them telling her to be perfect be nice but she can't take it any more she is done she can only take a certain amount like when it say I bleed when I fall down she can't help that all of this gets to her so she crashes and falls and hits the floor I fell all of this pressure for whatever I do and I crash and fall I Need help please and human gave me so much help and empowerment we are all human we can only take so much and we reach our limit we bust or hit the floor and she says she and how he build he up then knocks her back down is happening in society now all the time critics and parents for ball or music grades anything there kids do all they do is push and we can take it I gets stuck and we think we aren't good enough I'm twelve I get pushed and push thanks to her for this song because I'm only human.

This song to me means so much because my parents are going through a divorce, and they are arguing all time. I always feel like I have to take sides, so for me, this song is saying, I would do anything for you, I'll hold my breath, I'll bite my tongue, I'll hold the weight of the worlds. But I can only take so much before I've had enough and I can't take it anymore. Until I feel like giving up. I listen to this song and think, if only my parents knew that this song describes exactly how I feel, they would maybe take my feelings into consideration. They think that my mind is resilient and that I'll just think everything is okay, but in truth I'm only human. I bleed when I fall down, meaning that it hurts them argue. It hurts to go through this. I crash and I break down, meaning that I do give up when I've had enough. You build me up an then I fall apart, meaning that they make me feel like everything's gonna be alright, then they have a fight, and I just crashed burn, I give up and I can't take it anymore. I thank Christina Perri for understanding so many people in this world, including me, a 13 year old girl in the middle of her parents' divorce.

When your in a really broken down relationship you try so hard to fix it and even harder to be a strong person. But of course being human we break down cry and just lose it. It's not only sticks and stones that break your bones words hurt just as more sometimes. Also her self esteem and confidence bottles.

We can't keep going we have to stop. We can take so much until we had enough. We bleed when we fall we can or can not bleed when we fall. We can bite our tongue. We can hold our breath. We can do almost everything. We can stay awake for days. We can fake a smile. We can force a laugh. We can dance and do a lot of things that's what being a human is. We need to do thing or we die. We can't stay alive forever. It's like when we build a sand castle it can't stay there forever I has to fall apart. Nobody is perfect no one can be. So don't judge us we aren't perfect! We can be mad some people start to cut and that's not good.

She can only go to a certain level before you falls. She makes mistakes but trys to do her best to make them happy. She feels that she can do it if there is no pressure on her but she won't ever be perfect that's why she's human. That's what makes her unique, she's saying to them, and that she will mess up because of who she is. Feels like it would hurt her so she states that she can only take so much. I'm twelve and I am only human. Do not force me to be perfect because I"M not. Nobody is. So don't say anything about me that's rude and unknown to you because your just as bad.

This song is deep. It means she is probably giving everything to her lover and he isn't even showing a bit of respect for her.

Shes giving him everything and what does she get? Mistreated, that's what. So she stands up for herself by sining about how she's only human, not a machine.
