Once your sick and tired of being sick and tired, you have to let go and be strong. An alcohol/drug addiction can often be similar to a cheating boyfriend; broken promises, tearing love apart, leaving scars. But once you let go of either, you learn to put the light back in your life. It takes courage to say no more and walk away. Lovestrong!

This song perfectly sums up my most recent heart breaking relationship. All my boyfriend would do is run around and basically collect the hearts of other women, including my best friend. He is so convinced that he is the best boyfriend in the world and that he is God's gift to women when he's just a heart breaking jerk. After he broke up with me and shattered my heart, he continued his path of destruction and scars. Then once he was done with a few of my closest friends he came right on back to me to try and get my newly healed heart back so he could break it again, so I told him "No", by sending him this video.

The meaning of this for me is:.
The boy and the girl had their love so strong but the boy just suddenly left the girl. So even it's so hard, the girl tried to move on. So hard that it took lots of tears to fall just to forget about those promises and love that they've made with each other. Now, the boy just popped to go back to the girl but now it's too late to turn back what was with them from before :(

This song needs no explanation. Anyone who has been used and abused by someone they really loved understands it perfectly. After being in an abusive relationship, this song is the epitome of everything I went through and continue to go through. He broke me and all of his promises. I had to get away and I did, in fact, grow too strong to ever fall back in his arms. He wants me back, but he'll never get me back. All that would lie ahead would be regret if I were to ever take him back. One of the best songs ever. Love the video as well.

What some people failed to mention is that She got her heart broken right, well she wants to help the other girls that got their heart broken by the same guy. She was cheated on and was sad, but she realized she had to get on with her life insead of holding on to someone who did not lover her to begin with.
I can sort of relate to this song in a way. I listen to it every day and I just think of my past and laugh. I had my first boyfriend when I was 14, and this guy was just using me to make another girl jealous. Then had the nerve, 2 months later, to ask me out. I can really relate to this song. I was madly in love with a boy. He was everything I wanted, and more. One day he decided we were done. I was crushed. This song is about a lady who decides to have a better life without the man she used to really love, he caused her all the pain, heartache, and grief and now finally when she stand up on her feet after almost dying from the pain, she also decides that there's no way she'd be with him anymore, now that he wants her back or tries to be nice, she thinks its better they just never meet anymore coz meeting would only unleash old wounds, tear open old scars and bring back all the sad memories she desperately buried long ago. This song was my life. Married to someone with narcissistic personality disorder for 20 years - nothing but lies and a house of cards and he just handed me a letter one day and walked out on me and our 1 year old one day. Turned out he'd been leading a double life with his mistress for at least 10 years and decided she was worth more to him since she was richer. With those two quotes alone it's obviously a song about how she was with a guy that was all wrong for her. When she finally got over him and found happiness again, he came looking for her to "Have her one more time." She is telling him that it won't work because she is not the same person and she is much stronger now and doesn't need him. So basically it is a song about being stringer and not letting an ex-love return to your life and bring you down again.

Its about a boy who leads a bunch of girls on and honestly doesn't care about any of them really but just likes the attention. "jar of hearts" of all the girls that hes been messing with. A guy I once dated, who was two years older than me, he was popular with the ladies. I am a recovering anorexic and had been doing well in recovery and suddenly, I can feel the eating disorder waiting and wanting me again, promising to make me happy, but it's fake promises. Those type of damaged people truly have ice inside their souls. They will use and abuse you because to them people are just objects to be used.

The Lady I am in love with, we have loved each other for since we were very young and finally found each other. The situation went south, based on me not being able to find employ after relocating to be with her. I had issues of the heart unresolved for years. This is my meaning of jar of hearts: when a girl falls in love very deeply with a guy that loves her deeply too, but he doesn't know it, he cheats on her and she is broken. I love this song so much. It's so amazing and those memories you had with him, come right back to you. This song really relates to me - how he wanted me back after hurting me so much and how I said 'no'.

To me jar of hearts means, like there is this boy that a girl dated, he broke her heart, and she has been trying to forget about I, but he keeps doming back with a jar of hearts that he stole and broke from other girls he dated. In the line which says "you know i can't take one more step towards you because all thats waiting is regret", is practically saying that if she goes any closer to him she will fall for him again, and all he will do is take her heart and break it! I fell hard for dale the moment I met him. I was addicted to him and gave him my life. We were married for 30 years the last 20 were hell. He was an abusive alcoholic and ripped my heart out. In the last couple days I was with my fiance eddie G. Naranjo, he tried to take a liberty with me that no one should ever attempt with a person. He told me he would be with me again when we got back to new orleans. I asked him, "who do you think you are? " I loved this man with every breath of life in my body, I still feel we are soul-mates and I truly believe he felt the same way. Yet men being as hard-headed as they are, the promise he made to ride back with me from houston, he didn't keep. He said, "malinda, you said some things. " it's true I did shame him heavily for what he tried to do with me. But I knew in my heart he would be in danger if he would decide to ride back in the tacoma pick up truck I gave his 'friend' a ride to houston to buy, which is the reason I had both eddie & his 'friend' promise me that he would ride back with me in my volvo before we left new orleans. Eddie decided to ride back in the truck and when they reached 310 & i-10 east @ 5am, december 3, 2007 - an 18wheeler pulled onto the interstate from the shoulder and hit the passenger fender of the truck and flipped it twice, eddie's air bag didn't deploy and he died the next day @ 3: 02pm. I miss him terribly still and on that day I know I lost the love that I will always love the most.

When I heard this song, I was just like in her position. Used to love this guy a lot, but smart enough to realize and wake up. Things always got the expiration date, just like their relationship which has ended. When this guy who hurted her try to get back, she won't be fool enough to fall back again, after what she'd been through, the process of being broken, rising up on her own, and those aint easy. To me, this song reminds me of a past relationship that I just had. My ex broke with me because he felt like he still wanted to talk to other girls. I understood that even though I was hurt. This song reminds me of my ex fiance. A few people who I was hanging around wit the time caused our relationship to break down after I had returned to london to care for my grandfather. He had his mother and step brother threaten my life and kept me from moving on for almost 10 months, seeing and dating other girls behind my back but maintained a sexual and romantic relationship with me (i fell pregnant and miscarried his son in that time) before he finished it just before christmas to leave me for a 32 year old. I would like to think of this as a clash of ideologies. The guy who wasn't ready to settle down and wanted to engage ina philiosiphy of free love, and the girl that loved eternaly and deeply in a monogamous way and this was not the love he expressed for her. I heard this song over my winter break, and it made me realize how horrible my boyfriend was. He cheated on my within the first month of us being together, and who knows how many times after that.
