Coldplay – Yellow lyrics
Look at the stars,
Look how they shine for you,
And everything you do,
Yeah they were all yellow
,

I came along
I wrote a song for you
And all the things you do
And it was called yellow

So then I took my turn
Oh what a thing to have done
And it was all yellow

Your skin
Oh yeah your skin and bones
Turn into something beautiful

You know you know I love you so
You know I love you so

I swam across
I jumped across for you

Oh what a thing to do
Cause you were all yellow

I drew a line
I drew a line for you
Oh what a thing to do
And it was all yellow

Your skin
Oh yeah your skin and bones
Turn into something beautiful
You know for you I'd bleed myself dry
For you I'd bleed myself dry

It's true look how they shine for you
Look how they shine for you
Look how they shine for...
Look how they shine for you
Look how they shine for you
Look how they shine

Look at the stars look how they shine for you
And all the things that you do

She died. And joined her place amongst the stars, amongst the brightest most beautiful 'yellow' of nature and the best parts of this world. Like ashes to ashes, dust to dust, he believes from skin and bones, into a radiance as bright and translucent as the stars above. But as much comfort as that gives him, he is heartbroken. He dreams of shedding his own blood, spilling it across until he is bone dry, joining her. But he knows he wouldn't join her. He couldn't get to where she is going with such an act, because she is pure light and always was. So instead he will morn for her, and look at the stars.

I think the word "yellow" stands for the part about love that we cannot explain. Yellow stands for the part where it cannot be described or contained, even within itself. When he says, "your skin and bones turn into something beautiful", hes talking about the fact that humans are just skin and bones, and yet beauty inexplicably comes out of it. Just like the sun: its just a big piece of burning gas, but damn it, it is yellow and beautiful :)

This song reminds me of my little brother. He suffered for a long time from kidney and liver problems, and as a result he had a yellow tint to him. "your skin and bones turn into something beautiful" because we knew that he would die, obviously the majority of the song because we loved him, "for you i'd bleed myself dry" because had I had the right blood type, I would have gladly given all my blood to him.
Coldplay may have just thrown this song together, but they have offered several different meanings for it, and one of the song's writers did have a mother that died from liver disease. Liver failure = skin and bones, yellow skin, blood transfusion etc.
The great thing about non-specific songs like this is that most people can draw their own meaning from it.

Energy pervades matter. If you're lucky enough to learn to see subtle energy colors, then you discover yellow everywhere. You see life in terms of dynamic energy, and can emit and follow energy fields throughout your life on earth. It is a very powerful path, but takes fixed perception, and fluid piloting to stay on course. I imagine that sunrise on earth is very yellow from outer space. It would be very attractive to travelers. Many of these songs are lessons to, for and about children, so that they may learn to navigate through humanity with purpose and meaning. Children can be amazingly inspiring. Yellow is a song about light and energy transformation. When you learn to see our world through the light spectrum perspective, you see yellow everywhere. We see, live in and emit energy fields that are comprised of, and reflect everything we are and do. It is universal. So then, when the stars shine for you, they reflect the very same energy that you receive when perceive them. What a beautiful love song.

This is about someone who's love has passed and he is heart broken. She is all yellow because she is floating. The yellow is translucent. In his heart and mind he is bringing her back. And she is returning. Over a blue sky and blue sea - on a gentle breeze.

I personally feel that this song is about a guy who loves a girl and would do pretty much anything for her. He excepts her for all that she is and all of her little flaws. Since Chris sings "you're skin and bones turned into something beautiful," maybe he means that she's had trouble with loving how she looks, and he is reassuring her that she is beautiful in every way possible. For some reason, I don't know why, I get a kind of sad vibe from this song. But, it is still one of my favorites.

Its a song about someone so beautiful "id bleed myself dry" you would die for them. Swam across draw a line for you write a song about someone. Look at the stars look how they shine for you, well there a lot of stars up there! It is a song about saying this person means the world to them they are the world to them because the stars are always there it says the person in mind is always there for them. Yellow is also a bright color that shines.

It's about how a man want's to give this girl he loves everything he can. The colour yellow actually means cowardice. So maybe he is just shy about being around her. It's a really sweet song. It makes me want to hold my love and never let her go. He doesn't know how to tell her how he feels about her. He watches from afar never getting closer. He would do anything for her. That is how much he loves her. He would give her the stars.

I hear this song as about my wonderful son. As a baby, always smiling and still now, a young man always loving and giving and indeed shining. He is a star, not just to me but to many. He is a very beloved friend to more people than I can count---like the stars. He shines among them. I have often written songs about him, and all the things he does. And not surprisingly, he loves astronomy and loves watching the stars through his telescope. To me, they are all yellow. and they always shine for him.

TW: ED This song actually reminded me of an Anorexic girl that he loves. "You're skin and bones" when my anorexia got to the point where I barely looked alive. "I came along I wrote a song for you" with musicians is a huge form of affection, I've written my significant other songs and it's not easy to share those types of songs. Yellow is the colour of happiness and hope, this hope could be that she makes it out alive. "I'd bleed myself dry" Many anorexics need extra blood put into their system and she could have needed this. "Look how the stars shine for you and everything you do" this could be him trying to show her that she is beautiful no matter her weight. "I swam across for you" this could be him using an analogy for how far he'd go for her to show her that she is good enough and is amazing the way she is.

Good lord, the meaning is obvious... YELLOW is jealousy...the stars are all yellow (jealous)....he drew a line because of jealousy....basically, he took his turn being with a girl because he was jealous of the other guys having her....'oh what a thing to have done', he has remorse now that he really loves her...skin and bones is an old saying meaning theres nothing there but the basics, in this case a relationship with no love... it turned into something beautiful means he did fall in love with her.... I love you so, bleed myself dry, look at the stars, see how they shine for you, are straight forward expressions of how much he loves her now....guy gets girl based on bad intentions but falls in love, writes a song to express how much he loves her, and all of the things he regrets doing, including being jealous of her. As far as I can tell, its an apology love song.
