Demon Hunter – Dead Flowers lyrics
[Intro]

[Verse 1]
I feel ashamed with abandon in my heart and on my face
I suffered the blame
I would show to you this way
But I'm too late

[Pre-Chorus]
When the sorrow, it breaks them
I will replace them
For you

[Chorus]
Dead flowers for the torn apart
Laid at the grave to heal a broken heart
Let it rain until it floods
Let the sun breathe life once more
Reborn

[Verse 2]
Wish you the same
To walk beside and carry on this flame
To see you again
With a radiance
Of pure and Holy Name

[Pre-Chorus]
When the sorrow, it breaks them
I will replace them
For you

[Chorus]
Dead flowers for the torn apart
Laid at the grave to heal a broken Heart
Let it rain until it floods
Let the sun breathe life once more
Reborn

[Instrumental bridge and Solo]

[Chorus[
Dead flowers for the torn apart
Laid at the grave to heal a broken Heart
Let it rain until it floods
Let the sun breathe life once more
Reborn

[Bridge]
Dead flowers for the torn apart
Dead flowers for the torn apart
Dead flowers for the torn apart !!!

[Hook]
Let it rain until it floods
Let the sun breathe life once more
Reborn

[Outro]
Dead flowers for the torn apart
Dead flowers for the torn apart
Dead flowers for the torn apart
Dead flowers for the torn apart
Dead flowers for the torn apart
Dead flowers for the torn apart ....

When I heard this song, something just hit me and I knew I had to look deeper into it. Looking at the words over and over, what I felt was that we are (or were) the 'torn apart'. Our lives before christ was a mess, flowers can mean a lot of things, most of which are rather positive such as love, forgiveness, peace, etc. 'dead flowers' means that all these good qualities are gone. However, 'laid at the grave (of christ) to heal a broken heart (our hearts)', this is to give our sins and brokeness to god and let his 'rain' and 'sun' rain down on us to breathe new life for us to be reborn. The part on 'wish you the same. Of pure and holy name', the first thought was of jesus. Then this thought came to mind, it is jesus talking to us (those who have been saved). He is saying that now that we have been brought to him and saved, we should do the same for others. The flame that brought us to christ is now in our hands to pass on to others. And as we embark on our new life, we radiate with the love of our god. Not sure whether people would agree but this is what I felt. Thanks.

To me this song is about coming to the point of salvation and the way life unfolds after that. God gave me a miraculous transformation - he took me right to the edge, to the point where I had nowhere left to look but up. And when I did, he was there waiting for me to call out to him. Sorrow rained down on me until I was flooded and then "the sun (son) breathed life into me once more and i was reborn. "
The bible says we that when we are saved we are reborn in christ. "dead flowers for the torn apart. Laid at the grave to heal a broken heart" symbolizes the sinful part of us that died and is now buried in the past.
"when the sorrow, it breaks them, i will replace them for you" speaks to me about life after the point of salvation. We still have our sorrows but we have a new source of strength - our faith - which, sadly, the unsaved do not. Their sorrows break them but when christians have sorrow we need to give them to christ and he will "replace them for us. "

I agree I believe this is more specificaly about christ like the person above me said the more and more you read the lyrics the clearer the meaning becomes. I do also agree that the begining is about how humans fall short and they think god has given up on us or he will never forgive us. But like the song says "when the sorrow, it breaks them i will replace them for you" jesus died on the cross so when we have him (christ) that is all god sees so through his sacrifice we are reborn. But that is just my opinion.

The grave can be someone who died and the dead flowers mean its been some time since someone visited it. The rain and the sun are too things needed to bring it back to life. This is if you look in parts. The full meaning: a person who feel deserted and alone a his very last. The flowers are his soul. And god is the sun and the rain. He revives our souls and makes us whole again. We abandon god and when we do you flowers die, but when we come back to god, we are reborn. Praise the lord.
