DragonForce – Through The Fire And The Flames lyrics
On a cold winter morning, in a time before the light
In flames of death's eternal reign we ride towards the fight
When the darkness has fallen down and the times are tough alright
The sound of evil laughter falls around the world tonight

Fighting hard, fighting on for the steel through the wastelands evermore
The scattered souls will feel the hell bodies wasted on the shores
On the blackest plains in hell's domain we watch them as they go
In fire and pain now once again we know

So now we fly, yeah, we're free, we're free before the thunderstorm
On towards the wilderness our quest carries on
Far beyond the sundown, far beyond the moonlight
Deep inside our hearts and all our souls

So far away we wait for the day
For the lives all so wasted and gone
We feel the pain of a lifetime lost in a thousand days
Through the fire and the flames we carry on

As the red day is dawning and the lightning cracks the sky
They'll raise their hands to the heavens above with resentment in their eyes
Running back through the mid-morning light there's a burning in my heart
We're banished from a time in a fallen land to a life beyond the stars

In your darkest dreams see to believe our destiny is time
And endlessly we'll all be free tonight

And on the wings of a dream so far beyond reality
All alone in desperation now the time is gone
Lost inside you'll never find, lost within my own mind
Day after day this misery must go on

So far away we wait for the day
For the lives all so wasted and gone
We feel the pain of a lifetime lost in a thousand days
Through the fire and the flames we carry on

Now here we stand with their blood on our hands
We fought so hard now, can we understand?
I'll break the seal of this curse if I possibly can
For freedom of every man

So far away we wait for the day
For the lives all so wasted and gone
We feel the pain of a lifetime lost in a thousand days
Through the fire and the flames we carry on

I've been hearing their songs sound the same. Well yeah it's true, but for good reason. One this is how speed metal is supossed to sound, so you are going to hear the same music. And the lyrics. They already built a reputation with these lyrics, if they quit using them, they might lose fans, and there is only so many your bound to hear phrases more than one. Dragonforce Rules.

I personally think that the verse "So far away we wait for the day. For the lives all so wasted and gone. We feel the pain of a lifetime lost in a thousand days. "Through the fire and the flames we carry on." Could mean to carry on throughout the "Fire and the flames" of life no matter what because throughout a person's life they will experience pain whether it be external like a broken limb or internally like heartache through with a loved one like a girlfriend or learning about a death of a family member hence "We will feel the pain of a lifetime." It could also tie in with "For the lives wasted and gone." Or it could be referencing all the people who suffer from proverbial deaths from losing their fights with an addiction with things like alcoholism or drugs which could end up being a waste of that life because the person that lost the battle with addiction could've had a great talent in something but the addiction that they unfortunately obtained took control of their life and they neglected that talent to the point that it is a fleeting memory about how great they were at what they did. "In a thousand days" could be referring to how it could occur within that timeframe because pretty much anything could happen.
