Fat Larry's Band was an R&B/funk band from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, who enjoyed some commercial success in the early 1980s. Larry James was born in South Carolina to Ruth and Buster, who later moved to Philadelphia PA. He is the oldest boy, third out of six children.
