Francesca Battistelli – Behind The Scenes lyrics
You may think
I'm just fine
How could anything
Ever be out of line?

I take my time
To set the stage
To make sure everything
Is all in place

Even though I've got the lines rehearsed
A picture only paints a thousand words

Things aren't always what they seem
You're only seeing part of me
There's more than you could ever know
Behind the scenes
I'm incomplete and I'm undone
But I suppose like everyone
There's so much more that's going on
Behind the scenes

Sometimes I can't see
Anything
Through the dark
Surrounding me
And at times I'm unsure
About the ground
Beneath my feet
If it's safe and sound

When it's hard to find hope in the unseen
I have peace in knowing it will find me

Things aren't always what they seem
You're only seeing part of me
There's more than you could ever know
Behind the scenes
I'm incomplete and I'm undone
But I suppose like everyone
There's so much more that's going on
Behind the scenes

Things aren't always what they seem
You're only seeing part of me
There's more than you could ever know
Behind the scenes
I'm incomplete and I'm undone
But I suppose like everyone
There's so much more that's going on
Behind the scenes

You may think I'm just fine
How could anything ever be out of line?

The me everyone sees (all but a few people) is fake. A fake smile. A fake look. A fake. Shell. Only a few people here and there. Far in between. Know the real me. The real me that really isn't ok. The real me that's breaking. Everyone just asumes I'm alright because I am always smileing and makin people laugh. Because I'm always taking care of everyone else before me and making everyone else happy nd helping with their lives nd problems. Everyone trusts me. Even though I don't trust anyone of them. But they don't know that. Not many people can read me correctly. Most are far from it. "behind the scenes" is a way for me to talk. Music is my language. My emotions. My words when I don't know what to say. It's my descriptions and what I think. Music is the only thing that keeps me alive.

Sounds like a modern day, 'he's still working on me. ' more than that; it's a reminder to look past the surface presentation of those around us. We all get so good at playing a part and wearing a mask. The reasons for doing so are numerous, but the truth is, who among us doesn't at some point hide the real workings of our lives? People want to seem like they have it all together. This veil we wear serves to blind our eyes from the truth we crave. What we need, is to see the frailty of our flesh; take off the mask and tear down the stage. It takes a little humility--ok, a lot of humility, however, we are all incomplete and undone, so who are we fooling? Ms. Battistelli does mention him directly, but I am reminded of god, who sees us for who we shall become, not the mess we are. Turn your eyes to christ, in whom we have completeness and are accepted in the beloved. It is easier said than done, but we need not pretend, instead we need to confess our faults one to another that we may be healed. Truly there is something behind the scenes. Our lives are becoming a heavenly masterpiece. Picture this: caution! God at work.

Behind the scenes to me is more than just a some that I hear and sing along to it is exactly how I feel going through my everyday life. Everyone is entitled to there own story and a lot of the time no one knows it. People always say you can read a person like a book well. That is far from true, you never really know what or who someone is until you have or are going through whatever it may be that they go trough or.
