Kid Rock – Amen lyrics
It's another night in hell
Another child won't live to tell
Can you imagine what it's like to starve to death

And as we sit free and well
Another soldier has to yell
Tell my wife and children I love them in his last breath

C'mon now amen, amen, amen

Habitual offenders, scumbag lawyers with agendas
I'll tell you sometimes people I don't know what's worse
Natural disasters or these wolves in sheep clothes pastors
Now God damn it I'm scared to send my children to church
And how can we seek salvation when our nations race relations
Got me feeling guilty of being white
But faith in human nature, our creator and our savior, I'm no saint
But I believe in what is right

C'mon now amen, amen
I said amen, amen

Stop pointing fingers and take some blame,
Pull your future away from the flame
Open up your mind and start to live

Stop short changing your neighbors
Living off hand outs and favors, and maybe
Give a little bit more than you got to give

Simplify, testify, identify, rectify
And if I get high stop being so uptight
It's only human nature and I am not a stranger
So baby won't you stay with me tonight

When a calls away
To break the sound
I'm faden down, I need someone
Oh to be someone
They just sinken down, and holden back
I hold the dawn and run
They don't save a child
Oh, to save a child

It's a matter of salvation from them patience up above,
So don't give up so damn easy on the one you love, one you love
Somewhere you got a brother, sister, friend, grandmother, niece or nephew
Just dying to be with you
You know there's someone out there who unconditionally, religiously, loves you
So just hold on 'cause you know it's true
And if you can take the pain
And you can withstand anything, and one day
Stand hand in hand with the truth

I said amen, I said amen
I said amen, I said amen,

Amen

Omg. You all are dumb if you don't understand what this song means. It does not or have anything to do with someone trying to tell another person they don't love them it has not to do with a solider going to war. It has everything to do with how the world is right now. I mean think about kids are going to bed hungry and they can't eat. And we have pastors that rape little kids and the goverment here does make people feel guilty for being white. It is about how he feels he wrote this song in like 5mins because everything he said in this song is 100% true. And you do have troops in war yelling tell my wife and childern I love thim in their last breath. Come on people wake up and listen to the news and then relisten to this song.

I see this song a bold statement about what is wrong with the world. I particularly like the line about being made to feel guilty for being white. At some point, white people need to be given a break. People of color cannot keep blaming whites for their lot in life if they have it bad. At some point people need to try to make their lives better as opposed to crying the blues all the time and finding scapegoats.

I think I remember the 60's very well. Songs like this were everywhere and no one paid attention. Although at one point in early 70's. All hell broke loose if they did not bring back the soldiers from Vietnam. Songs like this continued. Again no one paid attention. Its always at the last moment things shake up. Funny too how things haven't really changed. Kids see it now. But kids don't care anymore. I think Kid Rock is saying. "You Have to start to care again..dont look away but look around...". We had all better start to care and look around. Violence. War. Hunger. Hatred. Indifference is everywhere. Yet rich and famous people prosper wearing furs that were skinned off of innocent animals. Jewels that poor babies died for in Africa. Society is arrogent and greedy. Stop and look around. And change before "something Happens again"

I think this song is a disscrase. First of all you have the chorus as amen and yet he uses the phrase " god dam it im afraid to send my childern to church" really? Fyi: if you got fired up over that top half of the comment I think you need to listen to this song and again. I was just kidding with all the above but only trying to make a point, we all get angry about stuff that we can't control and judge others befor we get to know someone. I'm not here to preach but only to say that Jesus chirst changed my life a yr ago, I was in a dark place and am now set free from the chains and bondage. But I feel that people in general have to stop all the nonsence, so what if you don't agree with what I say or what this or that person believes in. To get all bent outa shape and live your life the rest of the day in a bad or hateful mood is stuipd, god forgive me for saying this but who is to say it wont be your last. We all tend to get staganent at times in life and we run into weeks that seem like nothing we do is working or turning out right. My question to you all if you know someone going through something like this now or in the future is where are you to pick them up and help them out, forget about past, its in the past, all we have now and left is our future. So as corny as this sounds I'm going to ask you guys to help me and all of us change the world! God bless us all!

People have already said what this song means if you don't get it read comments. I would like to say that this song is so true about us its sad when kids know more of what is going on in our goverment because all this stuff is getting pushed onto my generation. Well am not going to say anything else cause if I do ill go on a rant and I doubt you want to read my rant.

My opinion to this song is this. A person is tryng to get through to someone telling them that they still love them, the world is full of pain, animonsity even found in the churches, the lawyers and now the partner that once was. Now its time for the partner to take some blame and feel the pain and its a matter of salvation from the big guy above to let you understand that this partner still loves you know matter what in the past has happened but has forgiven you and hopes you call and theres probably a child involved, maybe a son or daughter.
I hope this better explains this to you. Good luck!
