Linkin Park – In My Remains lyrics
Separate
Sifting through the wreckage I can't concentrate
Searching for a message in the fear and pain
Broken down and waiting for a chance to feel alive.

Now in my Remains! Are Promises that never came
Set this silence free, to wash away the worst of me

Come apart, falling in the cracks of every broken heart
Digging through the wreckage of your disregard
Sinking down and waiting for a chance to feel alive

Now In my Remains! Are Promises that never came
Set this silence free, to wash away the worst of me

Like an army falling one by one by one
Like an army falling one by one by one
Like an army falling one by one by one
Like an army falling one by one by one

Now In my Remains! (one by one, one by one)
Are Promises that never came (One by one by one)
Set this silence free (one by one, one by one)
To wash away the worst of me (one by one by one)

Like an army falling (one by one, one by one)
One by one by one

Like an army falling one by one by one

Imo, this song is about someone who has left you too soon and you have unanswered questions and feelings. This song word for word reminds me of my best friend whom I was extremely close to who passed away.
Every day I wish I had one last chance to give her a long hug and say my last good bye and be at peace, hence the first lyrics of the song.

I think its from a soldiers point of view. When it says " separate, sifting through the wreckage.
    I can't concentrate, searching for a message.
In that fear and pain, broken down and waiting for.
A chance to feel alive. " it means that the soldier has been sifting though the wreckage of the war, and he can't concentrate because he knows he might die.
And as for the chorus, it means he is about to die and he realizes all the promises the captain made to him about bringing him back home werent true and he was gonna die there.
    Adlfjshf that's what I think.
