    I believe it's written abut when chester was drinkin heavily and it's written about his lifetime. Has he lost three of his best friends when he was younger, and he trid suicide and he divorced his first wife. He never felt wanted accepted or included. The sun will set for you part was written to all the people in his life who he had lost as they never made it to sunrise.

    Like mistysan said, this song is about losing someone/dying. The way the song is sung is very interesting because it gives you the idea that either a parent, or some type of care giver is singing the song. "The sun will set for you." Well ya, that's saying that your going to die soon. "The shadow of the day will embrace the world in gray." this is referring to the dying person's death will make close ones sad, or embrace them in depression. "Sometimes goodbye's the only way." is saying that the person is to damaged or ill to live any longer, or he/she is in great pain. "The only way", saying that the only way for peace for everyone. Now more so for the dying person than everyone else, but eventually they will be at peace with nature again and that they don't have to worry about him/her being in pain any longer.

    For me, shadow of the day means it is about your life. What you do in life has beginnings and endings and it will go back to you whatever you have done may it be good or bad. We're given life to embrace all goodness of the world given by god, and if you have not shown respect to god's all creation may it be with life or not, soon you will have to answer all your deeds.

    This song means alot, I listend to it because I was in a bad home and my parents were going to court fighting for custody over me and my sister and I thought of it as when I leave its gona be a shadow I'm leaving behind all the people I loved, that would be my shadow of the day n I embraced the world in gray people told me to stay but goodbye was the only way for me to persue my happiness.

    I found meaning in this song to describe losing someone. My brother died in a car accident last month and every word in this song rang so true to this. His friends all left cards and flowers and we all pleaded him to stay. It was the truest lyric of somtimes goodbye's the only way. It touched me on a new level. The sun set for my little brother that day and the shadow of his day embraced us all in grey. I love this song. R.I.P. Chris sanchez.

    This song is excellent! Just a few lines but it touches one's soul and psyche. I have this tendency all my life. I'm very emotional and when I'm hurt I keep it to myself, try to leave the world behind, and close my walls. Wait 'till every thing outside fixes itself. I'm very depressive. This song makes me feel better knowing someone or something out there knows how I feel. Now I'm crying.

No body can say that something bad has never happened to them. You can focus on these negatives or on the positives. Each will lead you to a different world. When you are looking for the bad in life, you will find it. When you are looking for the positive and keep an open mind, you also will find. Keeping an open mind is key. You can either look at the glass as half full or half empty. The choice is yours, and you must live with what you are open to.

    Today I heard this song for the first time and played it over and over again. I've read everyone's interpretations and I understand where each person is or was coming from. I think for me as a full time nursing student and single mother of three, whom currently is involved in a most difficult relationship with my boyfriend. I sadly must say that it's probably the best thing for me to let him go. Although I love him so dearly and I don't want to, he is making my already difficult situation worse. He is a drug addict and alcoholic, whom I want to help and support in a positive way to change or transform in finding peace in his life, but he first has to want to want it himself. This song's lyrics puts the words right into play, because like death saying goodbye to a love one can feel very similar. To me a lot of hurt, pain and negative emotions along with inspiration translates in the lyrics of this great song. To carry on for the greater good I'm going to have to say good bye at least for now, if I want to make it to my dream career of saving many lives instead of only one. I love you RKW for ever and ever babe.

    When my dog I had for 9 years died from cancer and a heart attack I played this song to myself so pretty much this is my personal song and if some one disis this song then listen to it more deeper then just then the insturments the lyrics are very close to me I'm sorry to hear about you brother mistysan he must of been close to you and your family my prays are with you and your family I hope you get though this tragic time in your life. I don't think I will get over my dog's death he was very close to me and when he died my whole world just crashed down now I make sure I don't take anything or anyone for granted that mean songs to.

    Pink flowers and cards on the window. Breast cancer patients have used the color pink for years. I believe its about being in a cancer patients room, particularly a female looseing the battle to cancer while someone that loves them watches them die. Gorgeous and powerful lyrics. The sun setting for you is the darkness he feels yet the glorious colors of each differant sunset, that is how he wants to remember her by. Each sunset for her. Such a very deep love. And full of color even if it only lasts for a moment.

    And the shadow of the day will embrace the world in grey: the highlight, or death, of the day will make the world unhapoy, where color means cheer and greys mean unhappiness.

    I think life is tragedy and beauty itself in one glimpse into the secrets of life, often tragedy blinds beauty to our eyes because the pain of loss is so great, but in the world of grey the sun still sets and always will and with it's setting it will rise again today and every day. You just have to remember that a new day or a new beginning is always inevitable and only a door away. When one door closes in our lives another door awaits to be opened and walked through. It's not always easy but it is that simple, sometimes saying goodbye to the shadow of yesterday is the only way to move forward into a new day where the sun will alway rise and set for you and all of us. With the saying of goodbye we can hurt the ones we love and they may even beg us to stay but it's best if we just go into the sunset wishpering 'goodbye'. On the other side of this new door beauty will reveal itself to you once again through the lessons learned behind the shadow of grey that clouds your world.

    This is my fav lp song 4rm mins 2 mid I love this song alot! Sorry about your dog bridg101 that one thing happen to me to my dog died and I ad him for a looong time so when he passed my life just was not right I still cry sometimes when I think of him and sometimes when I do I play this song to myself and happy memories of him come back and for 4 mins I feel at peace like I'm near him agian. I know sometimes it's hard to move on but if someone you loved died and you can't get over it sometimes you have to cuz they want to be happy not sad just think of the good memories not bad it's makes the pain fade sure you will still have emotinal scars from the shick or sadness but you have to be strong 4 other people who loved this person or anmial. Sorry if this made you a little sad or whateve but sometimes its gotta happen.
