Dan Seals – I'd Really Love To See You Tonight lyrics
Hello, yeah, it's been a while.
Not much, how 'bout you?
I'm not sure why I called,
I guess I really just wanted to talk to you.
And I was thinking maybe later on,
We could get together for a while.
It's been such a long time,
And I really do miss your smile.

I'm not talking 'bout moving in,
And I don't want to change your life.
But there's a warm wind blowing the stars around,
And I'd really love to see you tonight.

We could go walking through a windy park,
Or take a drive along the beach.
Or stay at home and watch t.v.
You see, it really doesn't matter much to me.

I'm not talking 'bout moving in,
And I don't want to change your life.
But there's a warm wind blowing the stars around,
And I'd really love to see you tonight.

I won't ask for promises,
So you don't have to lie.
We've both played that game before,
Say I love you, then say goodbye.

I'm not talking 'bout moving in,
And I don't want to change your life.
But there's a warm wind blowing the stars around,
And I'd really love to see you tonight

This song was incredibly meaningful to me back years ago when I was 19 and living about 100 miles from my boyfriend. We ended up drifting apart and marrying other people, but I always thought of him every time I heard this song. Now, nearly 40 years later, we somehow managed to reconnect. We haven't seen each other yet, just talked on the phone a lot, but this song seems to have been written for us now more than ever. Pretty crazy.

One party is married and had an affair with the caller. It ended because the caller wanted more than the married person was willing to give. The caller still loves the married person, but knows it will never be. The caller got a case of the blues and needed to talk to the married one. #2 the caller wanted marriage or a lasting commitment which he pushed for, and it caused a break up. Now he just wants to at least see her once in a while.

I fell in love with a lady who had breast cancer at the time. We had simple in counters, walking with the dogs and sitting up late at night watching the stars, we've seen each other for about 8 months. 7 months into it we kissed for the first time. Heavily! But suddenly one day we had a stupid argument, *me being a man wanted much more to quickly* we stopped talking. She passed away and I've heard one week to late. This song was what I wanna to say but never did.

I have always thought this song said, "There's a warm wind blowin'; the stars are out." I even got into a big argument with this dude at work about it once. Now I have to eat my words! I was like, "Wind doesn't blow stars around. What a foolish thing to say! The lyricist was just describing a lovely night when a warm wind was blowing on a clear night when he could see the stars, and he was feeling kinda romantic. Now I'm imagining a weather event that's strong enough to blow stars around in the sky; a much different proposition!

Lately, I've been spending quality time reflection about my life/living, especially about people I've known. The words of this song are poignant and bittersweet for me, I could have said them to several people in my life, men as well as women. The song makes me reminisce and I get open and sincere feelings and thoughts. I don't become cad but I listen intently, and I wish that some of the people the song brings to mind were still around. Many are deceased, some I last touch with, others, sadly, I know it would not be appropriate to reach out to, to contact. This song is paramount in my musical library.

It's a song about a broke black man that struck out at the club, so now he's calling some fat white chick up for a booty call. He just wants some s** and has no money to take her anywhere, so it's drive around in her car or watch bet on the tube while she blows him. Her low self-esteem is the reason she allows herself to be violated by the filthy n****r.
