James Morrison – The Pieces Don't Fit Anymore lyrics
I've been twisting and turning, in a space that's too small
I've been drawing the line and watching it fall
You've been closing me in, closing the space in my heart
Watching us fading and watching it all fall apart

Well I can't explain, why it's not enough
So I gave it all to you
And if you leave me now
Oh just leave me now
It's the better thing to do
It's time to surrender
It's been too long pretending
There's no use in trying
When the pieces don't fit anymore
The pieces don't fit here anymore

You pulled me under, I had to give in
Such a beautiful mess, that's breaking my skin
Well I hide all the bruises, I hide all the damage that's done
But I'll show how I'm feelin, until all the feeling has gone

Mmm,
Well I can't explain, why it's not enough
Coz I gave it all to you
And if you leave me now
Oh just leave me now
It's the better thing to do
Well it's time to surrender
It's too long pretending
There's no use in trying
When the pieces don't fit anymore
The pieces don't fit here anymore

Mmm,
Oh don't misunderstand, how I feel
Coz I've tried, yes I've tried
Still I don't know why
No I don't know why, I don't know why
Why I can't explain, why it's not enough
I gave it all to you and if you leave me now
Just leave me now it's the better thing to do
Well it's time to surrender
It's been too long pretending
There's no use in trying
When the pieces don't fit anymore
The pieces don't fit here anymore

The pieces don't fit here anymore

This song expresses the art of letting go. When its not working out well anymore, someone has to give up and give the other one freedom. It's about realizing that even if you give everything that you have for the person that you love, when he/she doesn't feel the same anymore, you have to accept it and you have to let go. You shouldn't hold on to someone who's not gonna hold you like the way you do. You shouldn't keep someone who's not gonna stay with you forever because if someone doesn't want you in their life anymore, whatever you do and even how hard you try, you will never feel it's enough and worthy at all. In the end, you have to make a choice, you have to let go and you have to ACCEPT that not because you love someone deep and you give everything to him/her, you'll have that person for the REST of your life. After all, love is about sacrifice, letting go and ACCEPTANCE. As they say, if you love someone, you should learn to sacrifice and if you love someone, you should make him/her happy. So if that person doesn't find happiness in you, let her/him find her/his way to happiness even if that kills you a thousand times. "Letting go is the BRAVEST thing someone can do for the person he/she loves the most."
