Muse – I Belong To You (Mon Coeur S'ouvre À Ta Voix) lyrics
[Verse 1 - Muse]
When these pillars get pulled down
It will be you who wears the crown
And I'll owe everything to you

How much pain has cracked your soul?
How much love would make you whole?
You're my guiding lightning strike

[Hook - Muse]
I can't find the words to say
They're overdue
I've travelled half the world to say
I belong to you

[Verse 2 - Muse]
Then she attacks me like a Leo
When my heart is split like Rio
But, I assure you my debts are real

[Hook - Muse]
I can't find the words to say
When I'm confused
I travelled half the world to say
You are my mu-

[Interlude - Muse]
Ah! Réponds, réponds à ma tendresse
Verse-moi, verse-moi l'ivresse
Réponds à ma tendresse
Réponds à ma tendresse
Ahhh verse-moi l'ivresse
Verse-moi, verse-moi l'ivresse
Réponds à ma tendresse
Réponds à ma tendresse
Ahhh verse-moi l'ivresse
I belong
I belong to you alone

[Hook - Muse]
-se
I can't find the words to say
They're overdue
Traveled half the world to say
I belong to you

I think there's a bit of a special meaning between the mu- -use bit, which turns into the french opera piece. This is purely speculation, but to me, I get the feel of going into a dreamlike crescendo between the word "Muse." Matthew begins by singing the first syllable, trails off and the song swells into an imaginatively grandioso opera solo, complete with dramatic piano and backup chorus.
Then, as if falling out of a dream, the song returns with the end syllable "use."
It is like he is recalling the muse mid-sentence, and a fantastic image of her plays through his mind, and he returns to his senses (the rest of the song). The dreamlike sequence is obviously very fantastic and classic, much like a romantic dream (or like how things play out in a romantic opera), where the rest of the song is very upbeat and modern like the real world. Perhaps the dreamlike sequence is what he wishes to have played out to her, what he wants to convey: something beautiful and utterly romantic. But like he says when it comes to the modern part, he cannot find the words to say.
This was what I had playing in my head when I first heard it. It makes much more sense now that fanofmuse has given such a delightful background on the french stanza. What I imagined may not be true at all to the real context of the song, but it's still very fitting to imagine when listening to the song!

When I heard the song the first time, I had the feeling that someone's very in love but just can't say. So, fanomuse's explanation makes totally sence to me. She did a very professional interpretation. And Lamou ist absolutley right, either.
Although Matt has given this song zo the new moon soundtrack I don't think it was his intention to sing about Bella. He said in an interview that all Muse members had desided to give that song away, because it wouldn't be played live so many times and they had their difficulties to generally end this song.
For me, this song ist a really strong love song to his muse Gaia Polloni.

This song is amazing, but what is with the twilight video on the side? No, just, no! I bet it was one of the little twitards who put it on, they have seriously got to listen to muse's other stuff and not just the two songs that feature in the twilight soundtrack. I think the translated French part is soo sweet and for Matt to think of these lyrics, he must have a great heart. Muse forever! ♥.

    Cute song :)
I believe The Meaning of this song is quite obvious, but for Matt Himself the one he belongs to is probably his Band, Muse.
He has been in the greatest band to hit this world and his musical talent along with his good looks combined make him an important 'pillar' of the band!
Hence when he says "You are my Mu-" and after the french bit (which I think translates into Respond to my Kindness, pour me -drink-) and after it says "Use" You can possibly combine to make Muse. Maybe, I could be wrong.
Anyone can believe this song can be different, everyone is entitled to their own thoughts. This is mine ^^
