Nevershoutnever! – What Is Love? lyrics
In a sitch like this you've gotta think
And I don't think you think about the way he thinks
And I know you live life for yourself
But it all comes down to the way you help

And I know your life is such a hell
You wake up early and you work until
You have your drinks at 5 o'clock
The hours blend and your thoughts all haunt

Your hopes, your dreams, your everything
Well, momma I hope, I dream, that you won't leave

And I have a question!
What is love?
What is love?
Love-e-e-e-e
Is it giving up?
'Cause that's not how you raised me, yeah.

In a sitch like this you gotta think
And I don't think you think about the way
She thinks
And I know you work hard everyday
But it all comes down to the way you're
Paid

And I know you're oh so sorry dad
I truly believe that you're a better man
To share one kiss then give away
All the love you come home everyday

To your hopes, your dreams, your everything
Well daddy, I hope, I dream that she won't leave

And I have a question!
What is love?
What is love?
Love-e-e-e-e
Is it giving up?
Cause that's not how you raised me.
And what is love?
What is love?
Love-e-e-e-e

See, I don't know anymore;
I used to look up to that love.

He's writing about how his parents' divorce shook his entire thought about what "love" really is. Many people, when their parents fall out of love, stop believing in it because they have no reason to believe that it actually lasts. The line "What is love? See, I don't know anymore. I used to look. up. to. that. love." sums up the whole song.
I love Chris Drew because he says things that so many people feel in such an honest way. He knew that his parents might hear this song and feel guilty, but he needed to express the fact that he was lost at that point.

This is about his parents and how they got a divorce. He is saying how he used to look up to his mom and dad, but now they are getting a divorce and he is confused. This is because now he does not understand what is the point of getting married and, if there is love, why should someone fall in love if they are just going to break-up. His parents had always told him not to give up on love, but they are now "giving up".

His parents taught him to never give up on love, yet they can't seem to follow their own advice, their love for each other fades and they don't seem to try to make things right, and it leaves him questioning love, since what he grew up looking up to as love, was just proven wrong. Basically, he used to look up to his parent's love, and always believed it'd last forever, but now it's gone, so he doesn't know how love works.

To me, this is loving someone for so long that the spark leaves and you're left with a simple, daily routine. Obviously they'll get bored and the love is simply just there, not shown, and they don't tell each other that they love them anymore. There's nothing there, no evidence, it's just known. And then, this is the perspective of the child wishing for his mother not to leave because of the same old boring routine and the spark that seems to have disappeared. It's about a healthy relationship turning, perhaps, unhealthy via dead romance and unsaid things.

Your family and the people around you build up your definition of "love". When all your family does is fight, your parents get divorced, your best friend and their significant other are in an abusive relationship, or people just stop listening to each other, that creates your view of "love". People need to build up their own definition, rather then absorbing what "love" is from other people. Love is not something to say or use often, it's a true bond between two people romantically or non romantically. What is "love"? It's whatever you find it to be.

This song hits me hard. My parents broke up when I was about 8 or 9. I didn't really understand at first; but now I completely do. My dad hurt my mom so bad and my mom had to go back to college, works all day, and tries so hard to make ends meet. It makes me so mad that my dad doesn't do anything though; he doesn't even have a job, and he has a harvard education. Him and I really don't have a good relationship because of everything he's done over the years. I can relate to this song so much; I listen to it almost every day. Christofer is such an amazing songwriter.

Love for me describing yourself on what you are, what you can give and it'll become you invulnerable when the times that you don't know what to do just to make your love happy. Ignoring those pains that you're receiving. Makes you to believe that you can do those impossible things to be done. And makes your life magical you can find love everywhere.
-ps this is the first time i; ve done such a topic like this. Makes me feel corny hahahah!

Love is the ability to feel weightlessness beneath the impression of someone else's heart. It's the feeling to where you could be in the waves of the ocean floating up and down as every big wave comes over you. The feeling without love is like having your feet bound the bottom of the surf line while waves roll over your head then stop and repeat. It's the sense of a slow drowning mind. I wish love upon you all. Although we all have a soulmate out there we might not all find them.

I don't really know. It's hard to describe. However, I believe "love" is when you'd do the impossible just to make that special person smile. You love spending time with them because every second with them is all worthwhile. It is when you get butterflies in your tummy and when seeing them you get a huge smile on your face. Sometimes they leave you speechless due to the fact that you think "i'm so lucky to have met someone so wonderful as them. " they're the first though on your mind when you wake up and the last when you're going to sleep. You can't see yourself with anyone else, but them; when parting from them your sad, but always looking forward to the next time you'll meet. It's pretty hard explaining why you love someone because it's a sensation like no other and it makes you happy both inside and out.

"love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.
Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away. "
    1 corinthians 13: 4-8 (niv).
I read this everytime when I wonder.

This is about his parent's divorce. He's just being pretty straightforward & telling them all the faults and stuff in the relationship, but how it hurts him that they're seperating and that they should still stay together.
'Well daddy, I hope, I dream that she won't leave. ' He's saying that he used to look up to their love, and now that he knows their calling it quits, he doesn't know what love is. Because for him, that was the love to look up to. I love this song.
