Paramore – That's What You Get lyrics
No sir, well I don't wanna be the blame, not anymore.
It's your turn, to take a seat while we're settling the final score.
And why
do we like to hurt, so much?

I can't
decide
You have made it harder just to go on
And why?
All the possibilities...
Well I was wrong

That's what you get when you let your heart win. Whoa!
That's what you get when you let your heart win. Whoa...
I drowned out all my sense with the sound of it's beating.
And that's what
you get when you let your heart win. Whoa.

I wonder, how am I supposed to feel when you're not here.
'Cause I burned every bridge I ever built when you were here.
I still try... Holding onto silly things, I never learn.
Oh why? All the possibilities. I'm sure you've heard.

That's what you get when you let your heart win. Whoa!
That's what you get when you let your heart win. Whoa...
I drowned out all my sense with the sound of it's beating.
And that's what you get when you let your heart win. Whoa.

Pain, make your way to me. (to me)
And I'll always be just so inviting.
If I ever start to think straight,
This heart will start a riot in me,
Let's start... Start, hey!

Why do we like to hurt so much?
Oh why do we like to hurt so much?

That's what you get when you let your heart win!
Whoa.

That's what you get when you let your heart win, whoa.
That's what you get when you let your heart win, whoa.

I can't trust myself with anything but this,
And that's what you get when you let your heart win, whoa.

She followed her heart in a relationship and had tons of expectations but totally missed reality and was let down. She was with a jerk that made her hurt, blamed her for everything, and what not. For so me reason she was attracted to this pain that she was inflicting on herself by being in this relationship but couldn't let go for some reason,. She lost herself, got caught up in the relationship. I'm glad I'm not alone. . Sounds like what I just went thu. I love this song, I can totally relate. You let your heart make decisions and sometimes its wrong. You gotta follow your brain.

Well I think this song is about a girl that really likes/loves a guy-whether he be a boyfriend or other-and things arent going right, and she keeps getting the blame, maybe blaming herself or hes blaming her. And when things sorta of hit rock bottom she asks herself "And why? all the possibilities" thinking they could have really had something. And she can't let go because she has let her feelings or heart win.

    My view:.
I think it's trying to portray the feelings of when you know it's wrong to love someone, but you follow your heart anyways and you shut out all your common sense. And then in the end you get hurt, and you wonder why you couldn't have listened to your gut feeling in the first place. And I think the person's mad because they gave their ex so much power to hurt them, and in the end they regret that. And she realizes that even though she understands that he was a jerk she can't help but still loving him. And that's why she's mad because she's letting her heart win the battle over her mind. And she thinks that her heart always leads her in the wrong direction, and it tries to overtake her mind, and wins.
I don't know, but it's just what comes close to my heart because I feel the same way at times.

Mmk. Well I think the song is about a broken relationship between a boy and a girl. She was beating herself about the break-up but now she's tired of feeling bad for it so now she's telling him he can take the blame. She wants to put it on his shoulders now so he can feel what it feels like. Although they wanna forget about eachother and move on ("possibilities") they can't because their hearts and everlasting feelings for eachother won't let them. Trust me. I've been there.

I think its about trying hard, putting everything you have into a relationship, only to learn that everything you biut it on was false, thateven though we get hurt we keep coming back for more. Because we're human and we crave familiarity, we end up hurt. It's about wanting to be iresponsible for once, wanting someones else to be the one that everything gets put on. Because if your not responsible, the blame won't fall on you.

This is about a girl who is singing about how her and her lover or boyfriend have problems. The first verse is telling us that she feels she is always the blame and that she is having a hard time moving on bc in her heart she feels she should still hold on to it. Shes saying wen you listen to ur heart sometimes its not a good thing and "thats what you get". You get hurt by falling in love and not using your head to figure out all the possibilities of something goin wrong. Clearly she is not 2 big on following ur heart wen it comes 2 love nd relationships bc people just get hurt in the end. This is what the song is about.

I think this song is about how a girl did so much for this guy and he didn't even like her (if you notice another girl shows up in the music video). She set herself up for the pain, she "invited" it in because she threw out her sense and stopped thinking straight and listened to her heart's infatuation instead. She dreamed of all these "possibilities" with him but she was wrong. She tried "holding to silly things" and she didn't learn. She was on cloud nine and she took a hard fall back to reality.

Then again maybe they're breaking up or shes getting revenge aka "Settling the final score."

I'm sorry, but seriously everyone who posted on this board is really dumb. Firstly, learn to spell it's "they're" not their for saying "They are awesome" And whoever said follow your heart not your mind is honestly probally some 13 year old girl. Cmon your heart is an organ that pumps blood through your body. Great song Hayley Williams is my third favorite singer behind David Draiman and Amy Lee. But please people use some sense before posting.

Ookkaayy I like am in love with song and I totally think that this song is about a girl liking a guy and maybe in love and that its hard to put all you got into a relasionship because possibilities are its not gonna work out and ur gonna be left with all the saddness and hurtness that happens in a relasionship. But now she's tired of feeling sorry for herself and she's coming out letting this guy know that its his turn to be hurt and sad. She says ' that's what you get when you let ur heart win' and I so totally believe that it happens. Rite now imm as single as could b and I just got out of a crappy relasionship wit this guy form rockville centre but I'm holdiin up.

The most meaningful part (for me, anyways) is when she says, "I wonder, how am I supposed to feel when you're not here. 'Cause I burned every bridge I ever built when you were here. I still try holding onto silly things, I never learn. Oh why? All the possibilities. I'm sure you've heard." Do I even need to explain myself on that?
But really, every part of the song is awesome. After being hurt by so many people because I let my heart get the best of me, I can't get enough of the song.

But recently I got hit by a car, and he dodn't even give a s*! So now I'm getting the courage to dump him, but I'm scared of my feelings, like I'm gonna be hurt, but no matter what happens. I know that i'll be okay. Its his turn to feel hurt!

I agree with khollyne 100% haha. Love totally ruined my life. And this song is a proof. Hayley points out that if you let your heart win - meaning you do the things you want without thinking it through - you will not get the prettiest outcome. And all you're gonna do is suffer the consequences. "i still try holding on to silly things, i never learn" -that is so me haha.

This song shows some seriously deep pain. When I broke up with my boyfriend because he cheated on me, I heard this song for the first time on the radio and it was like this big breakthrough. I realized that it wasn't my fault he cheated and I needed to get over him because he's not worth the pain. When I like a guy, I don't think with my brain. I just follow my heart and sometimes its better not to.

I am thinking that she was in love with someone and she followed her heart instead of her common sense and found out he was cheating on her. If she used her common sense she would have felt that he was hiding a few important details. This just goes to show us that we need not to follow our heart all the time but to also use common sense and really think about what is going on.

Basically the same as everybody all ready said. Its we you fall in love with somebody to quickly and the relatioinship iis not going good. So that person is taking the blame. And she is now just realizing that its not her fault and she is not talking te blame any more and she finnaly relizes that he is contrlling her. Her heart to belive something else than what is really going on. Xoxo.

Can anyone who uses this website even spell? C'mon englisch iz haerd!. And fyi for any of you who can't comprehend the song is talking about how following your heart isn't always the best thing you can do. Should think about everything and not just do what your heart is telling you. Even though your heart is just an organ in your body and it's actually your brain but still.
