The songwriter said the song had no meaning and wasn’t based on anyone. The man in the song is not a sympathetic character to women. He wants her to make a commitment while he remains uncommitted. “I think I could stay with you for awhile , maybe if I do”. “Falling in and out of love with you”. I always point out to my kids that amie would be foolish to go back to him. Especially after he described how controlling he was in their relationship. This is such an enduring song for the music and melody and frankly because the vague storyline strikes a chord with everyone who has dated a person like that who does t know if they want you but knows they don’t want you off with someone else either.

It sounds like man and a woman caught up in the web of love and trying to make up their mind what is right and break free from what is wrong. Over all there is no clear example talked about or given still the issue at hand is whether they should marry or stay alone. It would be nice if some one could right a new version that supported the need for family and morals to create a productive society. I know that this is not a guarantee still 1+1=2 and if applied correctly can produce innumerable off spring. This is still the only place where 1 man and 1 woman can create another human who has the right to do anything they want as long as they are taking care of their own business. Luke 7:47-50 TK.

Felix needed a way to express feelings for Naomi, so he quantified a method of releasing and enhancing his breathing method with input and output taking precedence over bringing cousins to bear. Now that the rains have ended and the braying resounds across the riverfront; we take solace in the never ending reason for living or retaining a life in itself.

I believe this is one of those songs where the melody and the sound of the words come together so perfectly that the meaning can be taken lightly and unceremoniously. In other words, sometimes love is just like that; confusing, disoriented. To me he is a little confused and maybe even drunk, and wanted it both ways. The guitar lick and acoustic solo is rhythmic and expressive. Listen to see why there are so many repetitive words (me, you, think... you me, me you). The rhythm, melody, and expressive harmony makes us ring, shake, smile at the sheer wonder of just being alive and trying to find and express love and yes, lust. Sometimes music allows us to just feel alive for a moment without specific meaning or explanation. We FEEL the song. Just Feel It❣️

I think she tried to have a real relationship with him and he blew her off when she tried then when she moved on he said hey where are you going. Maybe I could try it if you weren't with him for awhile a least. He can have his flings but she's supposed to wait for him in between. Ugh. Was in one of those it sucked it was all about what he wanted. Think about it what else do we know about her other than he's asking if he can be with her awhile? Really wasn't about her other than she was trying to move on without him and he didn't want her to... . ...who is that really good for honestly just selfish. You can't play with my stuff but I may want it later.
