Radiohead – Creep lyrics
When you were here before,
Couldn't look you in the eye,
You're just like an angel,
Your skin makes me cry
;

You float like a feather,
In a beautiful world,
I wish I was special,
You're so very special;

But I'm a creep,
I'm a weirdo,
What the hell am I doin' here?
I don't belong here;

I don't care if it hurts,
I wanna have control,
I want a perfect body,
I want a perfect soul;

I want you to notice,
When I'm not around,
You're so very special,
I wish I was special;

But I'm a creep,
I'm a weirdo,
What the hell am I doin' here?
I don't belong here, ohhhh, ohhhh

She's running out again,
She's running,
She runs runs runs runs...
Runs...

Whatever makes you happy,
Whatever you want,
You're so fucking special,
I wish I was special;

But I'm a creep,
I'm a weirdo
,
What the hell am I doin' here?
I don't belong here,

I don't belong here...

    The song to me always puts me into a mind set of a high school hallway. The guy is singing about how he wishes he could fit in and be loved by this person he adores. Then he realizes that he can't change himself and gets angry about being different. Though as sad as this song is, it has a way of calming me down. If feel so relieved when I play this song on guitar and sing because all of the tension built up in me goes away. This song slightly reminds me that it's okay to stick out and be different. It reminds me of my insecurity and how to channel that feeling into song. The song has a lot of meaning to me and I feel everyone should hear at least once. Then again, the song has some "explicit" content in the lyrics. A song should be more than lyrics and note on a piece of paper. It should be alive and moving. It should stand out and be different. It should be a Creep, a Weirdo.

    I am 48 and I fell in love with a 30 year old actress I shared the stage with in a show. She started inviting me out with her and her young friends. I spent alot of time with her and her 30 years old and some younger friends. We became really, really close friends in her eyes but inside I loved her deeply and still do. I could not dare to tell her because I felt like such an old man around her and her friends. Like a creep. Like a weirdo. I wondered, while at the bars and parties with her and her friends. "what the hell am I doing here?" and "I don't belong here." This song. Amazing. Relevant to me. And brings up emotions that I haven't felt since.

    This is my wife's favorite rh song of all time. This is why she went out and found a cd of theirs. They used to play it in '97 on kroc in Syracuse, ny. She couldn't find Pablo Honey so she bought ok Computer. God those were good days for me and finding modern rock. We listened and she thought some of the songs were cool and I did too, but we weren't hooked yet. I found Pablo Honey and she was able to get her fix for Creep, playing it incessantly. I took the ok Computer cd to work with me one day and after the first replay, I was instantly hooked and couldn't believe I was hearing the same songs as a few days before when we purchased it. I kept that cd playing for literally weeks after that day. Anyways, Creep was one of the fashionable words of nineties music along with loser. Songs such as Nirvana's Negative Creep from their Bleach album and Beck's Loser from his Mellow Gold disc and The Offspring's Self Esteem come to mind. Creep always meant to me what he was singing about to me. He has low self esteem reminds me of the sucker depicted in very catchy Self Esteem from The Offspring's Smash album. Creep is definitely more moody than that song, not as playful. But that's Thom for you from rainy old England against Dexter from sunny Orange County California! It becomes one of the much sought after live songs that doesn't get played enough and for a die-hard fan, is a treat to here live as its done less often. As of 2006 it was still in the rotation. Believe it or not, they claim that after over 800 songs they have never repeated a set list.

    There are some who claim that this song is really psychotic, but come on, haven't we all felt like this at some point of time? You want sumbody so bad, but you feel like u're unworthy. N you want her to notice u' you feel like u'v lost control, that he has so much power over you, n you want to regain that control, to feel some of that power. You feel like a creep stalkin some out of reach princess, but you can't help urself. Haven't you ever wanted someone or sumthing so bad that ur feelings seem completely irrational?

    Girl in high school. Loves boy. Loner type. But stunning. Every girl chases him. She knows she's got no chance so she doesn't try to express how she feels about him. They talk from time to time. Mostly just awkward small talk. She wants to tell him that she loves him and adores him but doesn't wanna ruin their. Well. Whatever you call that awkward thing between them. He never notices her subtle expressions of love. And he thinks it's strange how she despises all his girlfriends. And he never sees how much it hurts her. She hugs the sweater he gave her a long time ago. He'd forgotten about it. She held on to it. She always felt herself to be a creep. A weirdo. But she loved him so dearly.

    In love with a beautiful younger woman who is controlling and always degraded me because of my looks that she compared to others. The part about wanting a perfect body and soul is so true. It hurts so much that she runs. Runs. Runs to other men. I wished I was special enough for her to notice what was in front of her. The sad part is she's my wife whom I'm still a creep to her.

    This song is pretty simple.
    The guy [presumably] loves this person. Obsesses over them. He is jealous and in awe of them as they are so special. He wants their approval and has a really low sense of self-worth. He doesn't feel he belongs because of this.
    He eventually gets really obsessive and controlling over this person, and they leave.
    There is a possibility the person loves him back [if he was really in love with them in the first place - may have just been infatuated], but he has such a low self-esteem that he can't see it.

    Maybe he is about to tell her. But is kind of like "why am i gonna tell her if i know she'll run out on me again? she won't stay and it'll just be useless telling her that i love her" then that's why he keeps saying "i don't belong here" because no matter what they'll never last no matter how hard he'll try. He'll wish and want but she's just too good for him. It's sad but in a way all hummans do that. If it hasn't happened now. Then it'll soon happen in the future.

    The lyrics are 2 different ones ~ If you start with "when you're on the phone I can look you in the eyes" and then do the rest as shown. THIS IS HOW BABIES FEEL AND VIEW THEIR MOTHERS. Now sing the song with the first lyric as I wrote it .... and now listen to the song and hear that lyric ~ this is how YOU FELT about your mom and yourself when you were a baby and unable to do anything!
