Simple Plan – Astronaut lyrics
Can anybody hear me?
Or am I talking to myself?
My mind is running empty
In the search for someone else
Who doesn't look right through me
It's all
just static in my head
Can anybody tell me why
I'm lonely like a satellite
?

Cause tonight I'm feeling like an astronaut
Sending SOS from this tiny box
And I lost all signal when I lifted up
Now I'm stuck out here and the world forgot
Can I please come down? (come down)
Because I'm tired of drifting round and round (and round)
Can
I please come down?

I'm deafened by the silence
Is it something that I've done?
I know that there are
millions
I can't be the only one
Who's so disconnected
It's so different in my head.
Can anybody tell me why
I'm lonely like a satellite?

Cause tonight I'm feeling like an astronaut
Sending SOS from this tiny box
And I lost all signal when I lifted up
Now I'm stuck out here and the world forgot
Can I please come down? (come down)
Because I'm tired of drifting round and round (and round)
Can I please come down?

Now I lie awake and scream
In a zero gravity
And it's starting to weigh down on me.
Let's abort this mission now
Can I please come down
?

So tonight I'm calling all astronauts
All lonely people that the world forgot
If you hear my voice come pick me up
Are you out there?
'Cause you're all I've got!

And tonight I'm feeling like an astronaut
Sending SOS from this tiny box
And I lost all signal when I lifted up
Now I'm stuck out here and the world forgot

Cause tonight I'm feeling like an astronaut
Sending SOS from this tiny box
To the lonely people that the world forgot
Are you out there?
Cause you're all I've got!

Can I please come down? (please please please)
Cause I'm tired of drifting round and round (I'm tired of drifting round)
Can I please come down? (please please please)
Can I please come down?
Can I please come down?

For me, the astronaut here is like a person who feel so abandoned. A person who needs someone to understand them about his life and what's his going through but unfortunately, no one wants or can get through with him. He thought that people think he's not existing at all.

The astronaut is, in my opinion, a person who is lonely and want to find someone else like him, in the way that the person who he is looking for is also an astronaut. This person is not meant to be the one you love, but just the one you need. A lonely person who is looking for his soul sister, or just a friend that understands him like no one ever did. A lost soul, an astronaut!

For me, its about a person - the astronaut who wants to find someone who is willing to listen to them, someone who they can share their thoughts with and someone who can understand them. And this is their final attempt at reaching out to the world after being 'drifting' around various groups of people that doesn't understand them.
It a song that I can relate to even when I first heard it.

This song I find that is referring to people who can't find anyone to confine and feeling lonely at all times. Well, its more on emotional. They name it " astronaut" because it refers to people who lost the sense of life in this world as people drift away from the lonely ones. Needed help but no ones helping. This song is really meaningful and great. Be it the lyrics or the tempo, it sounds great.

It talks about ones' life in regards to love and their difficulties. Finding a specific person in life is not as easy as it sounds like trial and error. The analogy of an astronaut is a symbolic representation of astronauts going into space to find and discover the inevitable. These missions may find the thing they look for or not find them at all, like one looking for a lover can take a short period of time or a life long journey.

It is a rally meaningful song that simple plan has written and yes they always write meaningful songs that people or fans can relate to. To me, astronaut give me strength to carry on when I feel like no ones around to help me. I always have a problem with my younger brother. He doesn't respect me at all and hits me all the time, like intimidating me. And when I try my best to stop him, my mum scolds me and tell me to shut up. But its not even my fault. So I cried while listening to astronaut, it sounds really emo but I swear it definitely made me feel better! With pierre's amazing voice and meaningful lyrics:) just love them so much:) helped me at my worst and gave me strength and not to give up, just be who I am and theres nothing wrong with it:)

A person stuck in a world in which he/she believes no one can understanding him and its choking and weighing down on him/her. They feel alone and forgotten. They are looking for the love of their life but the relationship might not have worked out and they still feel stuck up in space and alone and left behind from that relationship they want to get over the heart break/ lonliness.

The singer poignantly describes his current state of mind-of being lonely and missing the one who, he wishes, could be his. He doesn't want to be so "alone like a satellite", where he uses this similie throughout the song, comparing the loneliness he is going through. Also, as there are many satellites, so are many lonely people: "i know that there are millions". He has noble thoughts-he "calls" upon all those lonely people out there-to break free from these strong chains of loneliness. He pleads, rather begs, to "come down", which means, to break away from his present state.

In this world we all face challenging times where we feel like we are alone in life. It feels as though no one is there for us. It feels like no one understands how we feel. We spend days, weeks, months, and even sometimes years feeling like the world is on our shoulders with no help to hold it up. When we really need someone by our side and no body is there, we face that one feeling that no one wants to feel. . To feel alone.

My interpretation of this is mostly based off my own experiences. I went through this part in my life where I lost all of my friends, and the more I was alone the more I felt like I was stuck, and I got more and more awkward which made it even harder to begin to communicate with people again. I felt like I sent out sos signals, and no one picked up on them. I'd just "drift round and round" at school, and everyone forgot the once fun and lively person I was and I still haven't come back from "space". I know I'm not the only one who experiences this, so now I'm trying to reach out to those like me. I want to "come down". (:

Astronaut - people who go out to space! The song? It is really meaningful and at times I do feel like the song. And I feel that it is not just about bgr but also in our life in general. Do anyone feel that are just out of place at times? Or even has the feeling that you are out of the social context you are in? I do. And frequently.

This song, to me, is like a letter. His audience is the world, and his message is for anyone who will listen. He's feels so far away from everything he has ever loved, ever know. All he wants to do is "come down", which I think he is really meaning " come home".
He wants to know he is not alone, so he calls all his fellow "austronauts" to "abort the mission" with him. All in all a powerful message.

Astronaut is the song to match the feeling when you have had an arugment with that sum1 special in your life but you don't have a clue what you have done. All you know is that your depserate for the fight to end so you can be with that person again cos they're the only one who can fix the lonely feeling you get when your without them. I think that's it.
