The Cataracs – Ready For The Weekend lyrics
[Verse:]
Flip the bottle, hop on this
Hundred Plutons ain’t no sips
Turn the racks up in the building
From the roof down to the basement
Come take a trip through my ozone
Might just get my smoke on
So we passin out like Pacquaio
Gone then, I’m so gone

[Interlude:]
Your girlfriend is a Nissau, you thought she was a Bezzle
But it don’t really matter ’cause to me she’s just a rental for the weekend

[Bridge:]
Body do it right, finger to the sky
Floatin all night, ready for the weekend
Turn my music up, nowhere in lot oh
Alright, ready for the weekend

[Hook:]
Tonight I’m going in love
You make me come up
Get ready ready ready for the weekend
Somebody come and get up
Shorty get up
Get ready ready ready ready ready ready ready ready ready for the weekend
Weekend!
Ready for the weekend

[Verse:]
Fuck a bottle, hop on this
Hundred proves don’t take no sips
For the last two and as my crew been winning
So I don’t really give two s***s about yall suckers, yall suckers
Rinkle Vosses to Mantaka
Through the winter until summer
Going stupid like gw
All my brothers, my sissies, brace your glass ’cause this is
A toast to spreading faster than your girlfriend’s lipstick
The weekend

[Bridge:]
Body do it right, finger to the sky
Floatin all night, ready for the weekend
Turn my music up, nowhere in lot oh
Alright, ready for the weekend

[Hook:]
Tonight I’m going in love
You make me come up
Get ready ready ready for the weekend
Somebody come and get up
Shorty get up
Get ready ready ready ready for the weekend
Weekend!
Ready for the weekend

[Verse:]
We’re swimming like balugas, been diving like a scuba
Club packed in the back of the vip
Sippin slowly and contiguous
So we’re swimming like balugas, we diving like a scuba
Club packed in the back of the vip
Sippin slowly and contiguous
So we’re swimming like balugas, we diving like a scuba
Club packed in the back of the vip
Sippin slowly and contiguous
So we’re swimming like balugas, we diving like a scuba
Club packed in the back of the vip
Sippin slowly and contiguous
What? What?

Ready for the weekend
What? What?
Weekend!
Ready ready…

[Hook:]
Tonight I’m going in love
You make me come up
Get ready ready ready for the weekend
Somebody come and get up
Shorty get up
Get ready ready ready ready for the weekend
Ready for the weekend
Ready for the weekend

I feel that this song is an in-depth critique on the American upper class. The character featured in this song seems to be a sociopathic upper-class citizen, an idea backed up by his disregard for a building's "racks" and for the rights of women. The character is developed to have an alcohol problem, but the song plays it off as being harmless fun, seeming completely unaware of the disgustingness of its main character. While this could make the song seem shallow, in my opinion it adds to the commentary provided, making the character seem as if he finds his actions to be justified by the fun that it provides him, not knowing or caring about the consequences. However, using the highly objectionable statements made by the singer (your girlfriend being a rental), we are let on that the song is actually a criticism, and a highly acute criticism at that.
