Tove Lo – Habits (Stay High) lyrics
[Intro:]
Oh-Ooh
Oh-Ooh
Oh-Ooh

[Verse 1:]
I eat my dinner in my bathtub
Then I go to sexclubs
Watching freaky people gettin' it on
It doesn't make me nervous
If anything I'm restless
Yeah, I've been around and I've seen it all
I get home, I got the munchies
Binge on all my Twinkies
Throw up in the tub
Then I go to sleep
And I drank up all my money
Days get kinda lonely

[Chorus:]
You're gone and I gotta stay
High all the time
To keep you off my mind

Ooh-ooh, ooh-ooh
High all the time
To keep you off my mind
Ooh-ooh, ooh-ooh
Spend my days locked in a haze
Trying to forget you babe
I fall back down
Gotta stay high all my life
To forget I'm missing you

Ooh-ooh, ooh-ooh

[Verse 2:]
Pick up daddies at the playground
How I spend my daytime
Loosen up the frown,
Make them feel alive
I'll make it fast and greasy
I'm on my way to easy

[Chorus:]
You're gone and I gotta stay
High all the time
To keep you off my mind
Ooh-ooh, ooh-ooh
High all the time
To keep you off my mind
Ooh-ooh, ooh-ooh
Spend my days locked in a haze
Trying to forget you babe
I fall back down
Gotta stay high all my life
To forget I'm missing you
Ooh-ooh, ooh-ooh

[Bridge x2:]
Staying in my play pretend
Where the fun, aint got no end
Ooh
Can't go home alone again
Need someone to numb the pain
Ooh

[Chorus:]
You're gone and I gotta stay
High all the time
To keep you off my mind

Ooh-ooh, ooh-ooh
High all the time
To keep you off my mind
Ooh-ooh, ooh-ooh
Spend my days locked in a haze
Trying to forget you babe
I fall back down
Gotta stay high all my life
To forget I'm missing you
Ooh-ooh, ooh-ooh

This song is about a woman who has gone through a break up or suffered the loss of the man that she was in love with. Because of this, she tries to do what anyone in her situation would do, which is try to stay as busy as possible, but she does it in a self destructive way. She engages in meaningless sex with multiple people that she truly doesn't care for because being miserable with company is better than being alone with your thoughts. But the thing about it is, you can get as high as you'd like on drugs and life, but at the end of the day, the person she truly wants to be with is never there. And that will always hurt.

I think it's even worse than a break up. I'd say her man died, hence the lyrics "I have to stay behind". She's suicidal and really doesn't care any more, hence the destructive behaviour. Absolutely brilliantly written. I think it's a masterpiece! One of my favourite songs now. Erik.

This song is about a female going through a rough break up. She was in love with him. She tries to keep her self busy as what anyone else would do. She engages into stuff like having s** with multiple strangers or even smoking and drinking. She was very miserable as you can tell, sadly.

The song is basically about a woman suffering from a rough break up or the loss of someone she loves. The woman becomes a self destructive person and she lives a chaotic lifestyle to forget the man she loves. She attempts to forget him by keeping herself busy by having sex with multiple men and possibly drinking and smoking. The men obviously mean nothing to her but she still sleeps with them to keep the man she loves off her mind. She just wants to keep the man she loves off her mind because she doesn't want to think about everything that she has been through with him and the loss/breakup. She would rather be miserable sleeping with men she doesn't love than be alone with her thoughts about the man she loves. She also lives this chaotic lifestyles because the high from it numbs her pain from the break up/loss.

This song is about a young woman probably in her twenties who has suffered a horrible breakup with a man she so clearly loved. She goes out to party often and comes home and stacks up on her snacks trying to drown her sorrows. She has followed this same routine for probably weeks now and she always has to have some man with her to keep her ex of her mind. She obviously doesn't care for most of the men she brings home but she stays with him anyway I stay busy while she mopes ever her ex. This is an overall good song.

This song represents how someone can feel after getting dumped. this person deals with the pain by going to sex clubs, taking drugs and getting drunk. She doesn't want to face her past and think about what happened, so she does anything to get her mind off what happened, pretending that everything is okay.

This feeling is about a self destructive person with zero self esteem. She will wind up dying over bulimia, AIDS or alcoholism if she doesn't wake up. If the stupid man had been right for her to begin with he wouldn't have left her. This is not how a mentally healthy person deals with a break up. This is some scary stuff.

It is about a young woman who suffers a break up.Basically is having trouble and it leads her to drinking and partying. She gets high to numb her pain. But that life is all she knows. So she can't just stop cold turkey so she just stays high all the time, and then suffers the consequences like throwing up in the bathtub, getting the munchies from her drug and alcohol binge. She does bad things so she doesn't think about her past troubles and pain. She knows it is absolutely wrong. But that is the way she copes with her loneliness. She is amazing for deciding to share her feelings and write an awesome song for people like us... MUSIC LOVERS.
