Willie Nelson – Angel Flying Too Close To The Ground lyrics
If you had not have fallen
Then I would not have found you
Angel flying too close to the ground
And I patched up your broken wing
And hung around a while
Tried to keep your spirits up
And your fever down
I knew someday that you would fly away
For love's the greatest healer to be found
So leave me if you need to
I will still remember
Angel flying too close to the ground
Fly on, fly on past the speed of sound
I'd rather see you up
Than see you down
Leave me if you need to
I will still remember
Angel flying too close to the ground

Our granddaughter was an Angel, her wing was broken, she blesses us with so much love for her 4 days she was on this earth. Our Angel took so much love with her when we had to let her fly back into Gods arms. We miss her, our love for her keeps us moving forward. This song holds dear to me.

This song feels as though it was written about my oldest son. He was a beautiful baby and at 19 years old in a shaky teenage marriage he was my base line. He was sickly, and many nights I held him in my arms hoping to bring our spirits up and his fever down. He was my world. He is grown now and successful and has left me for his grown up life. I have a terminal disease and wonder if sending him these words could help him to accept my absence when the time comes that I am gone. It seems to me that the greatest gift I could give him is to know how much he was loved.

My dad was severely burned last march, 2011 he survived a week and I was there holding his hand when we had him taken off the machines, he liked willie nelsons music so I looked him up on YouTube, and this is the song that came up first, my dad was the best, this song is so fitting for him as hhe lasted a week and we tried saving him, but we had to let him go.
He was an angel flying to close to the ground and now he is in heaven.

I feel that this song is about a person who you might have lost. That while living they were an angel here. Caring, kindness, loving and helping others. When they where called home. The people that they left behind remembers.
An angel flying to close to the ground. We lost a angel last week in our little town. He was a angel here on earth. And went through the gates of heaven as an angel. He will be missed by many.

I am Kat the Host of Hep c Out Of Bounds
I love to use this song when helping all of my 14, 000 members affected by the hep c virus learn that all it takes is that extra special touch to make a huge diffenence in someones life by helping patch up their broken wings. I took the treatments six different times and I am 3 1/2 years Hep C Free. Just beat breast c also, so I know how it feels to be flying too close to the ground and hitting the treetops, and mending all through Jesus Christ's Love and Miracles! I am proof it can be done.
I always had a dream of Willie and Steven Tyler singing this song togather for our cause. I must also add my friend Gregg Allman who just survived a liver transplant due to hep c and it's ravages. Find me on Face Book. Kat K Kerr.

Two years after last comment, but its been so many years I've been listening to willy, that I guess its ok.
Yes, Odby, it is simply perfect.
The title describes a certain type of gal that loves much, is wild and loves her freedom, but gets hurt easily and oh to land close enough to some willing stranger that understands.
To live in the heavenlies and to visit here is wonderful but its like a gypsy I guess, gotta keep on the experiences and move on.
This song is my absolute favorite and has me in pieces everytime I hear it.
To find a person that understands this angel. Is a rare thing indeed.
I know I am personalizing it but my god, its so damn personal to me that I can't do anything else but that. Bless you all.
